The Levinge name belongs to County Westmeath, where a Derbyshire family put down roots at the turn of the eighteenth century and stayed for the better part of 250 years. This premium heritage woven blanket honors the Levinge family crest against the Irish National Tartan.

History & Heritage

Sir Richard Levinge was Solicitor General for Ireland, Speaker of the Irish House of Commons, and Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas. He bought land across Westmeath in 1702 and 1703 and was created a baronet of High Park in October 1704. His descendants built Knockdrin Castle outside Mullingar and held it until 1946. The family motto — Vestigia nulla retrorsum, no footsteps backwards — has followed the name ever since.

Woven Craftsmanship

Nothing here is printed. The crest and the tartan are woven through the body of the cloth in 100% premium cotton, so the design holds its depth from either side, and the edges finish in a traditional fringe.

Heavy enough to feel like an heirloom the first time you unfold it — across the end of a bed, over a chair by the fire, or put away for the next generation of the family.
