The Lally name derives from the Gaelic O'Mullally, O'Maolalá in Irish, a learned family of the Ui Maine territory in County Galway. O'Mullally families served as hereditary poets and historians to the O'Kelly kings. This premium heritage woven blanket honours the Lally family crest against the Irish National Tartan.
History & Heritage
The family’s bardic tradition placed it within Connacht’s learned Gaelic class. The shortened Lally form later became prominent among the Wild Geese in France, including Thomas Arthur de Lally, an Irish Jacobite descendant who rose to high rank in French service.
Woven Craftsmanship
The Lally family crest and Irish National Tartan are woven into the textile structure, not printed on the surface. Made from 100% premium cotton yarn, the blanket has rich texture, lasting detail, and traditional fringed edges.
